W-03 Case study · Aerospace Climate
A fly-through that answers to the scrollbar.
A premium home-climate brand on a pinned video hero that flies from the sky to the components inside the unit.
02 The capture
The first frame of a descent.
03 Brief and build
The product is invisible once it is installed.
The brief
Climate equipment is bought on faith in engineering, then never looked at again.
A cutaway diagram makes the reader do the assembling. Better to carry them in: altitude, then the unit, then inside it.
What we built
The hero is pinned, and the footage is scrubbed by scroll position.
A video that plays at its own speed is a commercial. One that moves only when the reader moves is an instrument.
04 What shipped
One timeline, four beats.
- HeroScroll-pinned video, scrubbed not played: sky, backyard, unit, components.
- OverlayA WebGL canvas over the video plate, not beside it.
- TypeA data-split kinetic headline, driven from the hero.
- EntryA preloader with a count-up, holding the pin until the footage loads.
- MotionGSAP 3.13, Lenis 1.3, OGL and three.js.
- BuildVite 5, every version pinned and stated, not called modern.
05 At phone width
A phone gets the same flight.
A video hero is the first thing a studio quietly disables on mobile. At 390px the footage is re-framed and the scroll cue is still there.
