W-04 Case study · Auverne
Restraint was the brief.
A bespoke fine jewelry house. Only the stone is allowed to hold the eye.
02 The capture
One object, lit properly.
03 Brief and build
Motion here is a liability.
The brief
This is bought once and then looked at for forty years.
Every technique that earns attention on a product launch competes with the one object the reader came to see. The work was deciding what not to build.
What we built
The same engine as our loudest build, tuned down until it disappears.
Auverne runs the engine written for Marenval, intact. What changed is how much it is allowed to do. No cart, no price filter, no live chat.
04 What shipped
Five routes, and no more.
- EngineThe hand-rolled GSAP and Lenis engine from Marenval, intact.
- MotionQuiet by specification: the same engine, given less to do.
- ImageryMacro product photography as the primary surface.
- TypeA light serif on the lightest part of the frame.
- PointerCustom cursor and magnetic calls to action, from the engine.
- ConversionOne ask: book a private appointment.
05 At phone width
The portrait crop is the ring.
A naive crop takes the middle of the desktop frame and loses the object. This one is re-framed so the whole box stays in shot.
